Being Grafted in (with Hebrew)

What is being Grafted In ? What does that look like Biblically ? by Robert Aaron Bills

Inרוֹמִיּיִם  Romiyyim (Romans) 11:11–24 Shaul שָׁאוּל (a.k.a. Paul an Apostle) compares Yeesra-ale יִשְׂרָאֵל  (Israel) to the natural “branches” (the netzarim נְצָרִים  which is Hebrew for branches) of the olive tree. The converted, no longer gentile, believers he refers to as wild and are to be “grafted into” the natural olive Tree.

Some of the natural branches were broken off, and the wild branches (former gentiles who changed their citizenship) are “grafted in” (verse 17) These converts are to now be partakers of the (in covenant) promises and inherit the blessings of father Yahu-eh ( יָהוּהֶ  ) our Elohim’s deliverance, and entry into His Kingdom. Eph’siyim אֶפְסִיִּים (Ephesians) chapter 2:11-13).brings out more details out about this, and reveals this is connected to the Messiah, which also involves the renewed covenant.

It is very important to understand how the creator, the Father in heaven, יָהוּהֶ our Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) called His people Israel (not to be confused with the modern state of Israel, a geographical location, or a genetic bloodline) to be called out and chosen unto Himself, through being in covenant with Him (specifically now the renewed covenant) Jeremiah יִרְמְיָהוּ Yeerm’Yahu chapter 31:31-33, and Matthew MattitYahu מַתִּתְיָהוּ chapter 26 verse 28.

As the seed of Avraham אַבְרָהָם  (a.k.a. Abraham), the children of Israel are chosen by יָהוּהֶ Elohim to be a separate and set apart people which as we see in Genesis V’raysheet בּרֵאשִׁית 12:3 can and will include some from all nations.

A very important passage to connect to this is Galatians גָלָטִיִּים Galatiyim chapter 3. In Galatians 3:26-29, we read that being in (or of) Yahushua Messiah is also a seed of Avraham, and also heirs according to the promise.

Yahushua יָהוּשׁוּעַ being the true Hebrew name of the Messiah which means Yahu-eh ( יָהוּהֶ ) is salvation, and He (the Father יָהוּהֶ ) in heaven saves by His strong right arm, and His strong right arm is the Messiah Yahushua.

In Isaiah יָשַׁעְיָהוּ  Yeshayahu, chapter 40:10-11 we read, “See the Master יָהוּהֶ comes with strength and His arm rules for Him, see his reward is with him, and his recompense is before him. He feeds his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs with His arm and carries them in his bosom, gently leading those who are with young”. In Revelation 22:12 Yahushua says; behold I come quickly, my reward is with me, to give to each according to his work.

In chapter 52:10 we read; “יָהוּהֶ shall uncover His set apart arm in the eyes of all the nations. And all the ends of the earth shall see the deliverance of our Elohim”.

In chapter 53 (known as one of the major Messianic chapters), in verse 1 we read; “Who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of יָהוּהֶ revealed”?

In chapter 62 and verse 8 we see יָהוּהֶ has “sworn by His right hand and by the arm of His strength”.

In Psalm 17:7 we read; “show your marvelous lovingkindness, You who save by your right hand”.

In the apostolic letters, or the renewed covenant writings, also known as the new testament, there are around 14 references to the Messiah being at the right hand of the Father יָהוּהֶ Elohim.

In Acts 5:31 Yahushua is referred to as “Prince and Savior” whom Elohim has exalted to His right hand, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

The Father  יָהוּהֶsent His strong right arm (the Word in human form John / Yokhanan יוֹחָנָן 1:14) Yahushua יָהוּשׁוּעַ  (our King and Messiah and High Priest) preceded by a forerunner, to invite Israel to “repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand” Matthew 3:2; and 4:17.

However, when יָהוּשׁוּעַ הַמָשִׁיחַ  (Yahushua the Messiah / HaMashiach) was revealed as the promised Davidic King who would restore Israel (Matthew 2:2, 21:5, 27:11and 29-42; and also אֶת מַעֲשַׂי הַשְּׁלִיחִים   ET Ma-assey hashlikhim a.k.a. The Acts of the Apostles 1:6), He was rejected by some of the Israelites, exactly as Isaiah had prophesied (Isaiah 52-53). Yahushua called His disciples to fulfill Avraham’s commission to bless the nations (Genesis 12:2–3) by preaching the gospel of the Kingdom to all nations, and to "teach them all I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:18–20).

It is extremely important to understand who the Messiah Yahushua really is;

I will start by saying the letter J didn't exist in the English language around five hundred years ago.

The Messiah's name is not J-e-s-u-s, The Messiah is an Israelite born unto Israelite parents Maryam and Yoseph (Mary and joseph) in  בַּיִת לֶחֶם, Beit Lekhem, (Bethlehem) which is translated house of bread.

Yahushua was the bread of heaven that came down (John 6:30-40). His birth name would again be Yahushua.

Yahushua translated to the Greek language is Iesous, Iesous translated into modern English is J-e-s-u-s, that is where man got that, but it doesn't make it right though to call him by that name, he was not Greek or English, and that is not his proper name. Not even to mention that those who proclaim that name also proclaim the law to be done away with and a dangerously false definition of “grace”.

In John 14:6 Yahushua said: “I am the way the truth and the life”.

In Jeremiah 6:16 we read: “ask for the ancient path where is the good way? Walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls”.

In Matthew 11:29 Yahushua said: “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls”.

In Psalm 119:142: Yahu-eh’s Torah is truth.

In Psalm 119:160: Yahu-eh’s Word is true from the beginning.

In John 1:1; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with יהוה Elohim, and the Word was exceeding great”.

In מִשְׁלֵי Meeshlay (Proverbs) 6:23; “The commandment is a lamp, the Torah is light, and reproofs of instructions are the way of life”.

In John 1:4; “in Him (the Word / the Messiah) was life, and that life was the light of men”.

In John 1:14; “and the Word was made flesh and

tabernacled among us”.

The Torah is the word of יָהוּהֶ Elohim, תּוֹרָה (Torah) is Hebrew for instructions and teachings, given to all

who would want to be His people for a life pleasing to Him. The Messiah Yahushua is the instructions (the Torah) in human form.

Now passages like “if you love Me keep my commandments” (John 14:15) take on a much deeper meaning. Shaul preached the gospel of the Kingdom to the Israelites and was repeatedly rejected (Acts 13-28); in consequence, Shaul brought the "good news" to the nations, and many in turn became Avraham’s spiritual seed by faith and heirs of the promises to Avraham and his seed.

In verse 28 of Galatians 3 we see that we are to be אֶחָד (echad or one) in Messiah Yahushua. If we take this a literal step further we are to be one in Torah and known as the Israel of Elohim (Galatians 6:16).the called out chosen, and the commonwealth of Israel Ephesians 2:12-13.

In Genesis 12:3 we read: "I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you I will curse, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you".

"Shall be blessed in you" is a very interesting phrase when you dig into the Hebrew text, this is the Hebrew phrase וְנִבְרְכוּ which is pronounced weh-neev-re-koo. נִבְרְכוּ (neev-re-koo) is the niphal conjugation of the root work barak בָּרַךְ  which is translated bless 302 times in the Tanakh (old testament).

The term neevrekoo brings out much deeper levels though in Hebrew, it is connected to the concept of “grafting in” from theological and scholarly interpretations, and is also very related to the Biblical concept of bending a knee which is a strong foundation for being blessed in scriptures.

Some sages including Rashbam, Chizkuni, and others through interpretive method connect neevrekoo to the Mishnaic Hebrew term (a distinct dialect used in the Mishnah developed from Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic) mavreek מבריך this term is confirmed to have agricultural ties in regards to the grafting process. This term is also related to harkava הרכבה, which means assembly, or putting together, referring to combining parts to make a whole. This term neevrekoo appears only three times in the Tanakh, these places are Genesis 12:3, 18:18, and 28:14 all of which have to do with Avraham's seed and the nations of the earth. This is very important to understand when יָהוּהֶ gathers His people together at the end with Yahushua Messiah there will be "a great multitude which no man could number of all nations, kindred’s, peoples, and tongues" Revelation 7:9.

This is what Paul meant in Romans 11 by the nations being “grafted into” the olive tree and nourished by the promises made to Avraham. The tree signifies the people of יָהוּהֶ Elohim; and the “wild branches grafted in” are former gentiles that are now "in renewed covenant" with יָהוּהֶ; the “natural branches” are natural born Israelites, many of which are cut off in unbelief and also need to be in renewed covenant with Father יָהוּהֶ through Yahushua Messiah.

The restoration of the called out chosen people

is still under way and moving forward faster and faster. This is what Messiah was talking about in Matthew 16:18 where He would rebuild / restore the assembly / congregation.

He came for no other reason then for the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 15:24).

Judah remained for the promise concerning King David, the other tribes were scattered and to be able to reach them all the “good news” is preached to everybody, and anybody who would then make a citizenship change decision to be a part of the “Israel of Elohim” shall be "delivered" (Galatians 6:16)(Romans 11:26).

That is the “good news”, not what unfortunately many have incorrectly taught it to be over the years. The house of Israel which was split in two is now being restored back to one and anybody who wishes to be a part of it can make a citizenship change and be a part of the creators called out chosen people and be “delivered” which by Biblical name is “Israel” (again not to be confused with the modern state of Israel or a geographical location), again see Ephesians 2:11–22.

Romans chapter 11 conclusively shows thatיָהוּהֶ  is not yet “done” with his plan and the true Israel. The whole thing has always been and continues to be actually only about Biblical Israel, which all must become a part of now through the blood of the renewed covenant, again (Jeremiah 31:31-33, and Matthew 26:28).

All of the scriptures were written to Israel and almost entirely by Israelites. When the children were led out of Egypt it was a “mixed multitude”, but when they crossed over the Jordan it was all “Israel”. All of the multitude that came with them out of Egypt made a citizenship change and became Israel.

In Deuteronomy 23:3 we see that no Moabite can be in the assembly to the tenth generation, if you read the genealogy of Messiah Yahushua in Matthew chapter 1, you see Ruth in His lineage. Ruth was a Moabite, so how did that work?

The answer is in Ruth 1:16 when she told Naomi “Your people shall be my people, and your Elohim my Elohim". Ruth made a citizenship change, she was no longer a Moabite but now an Israelite. It doesn’t matter where you were born / what ethnicity you are, you can say to the Creator, our Father in heaven, your people are now the people that I am a part of, and you are my Elohim.

This is where covenant comes in. In שְׁמוֹת  Shemot Exodus 19:5 spoken to his people “Israel” (His called out chosen children) we read this: “Now therefore if you obey my voice and keep my covenant you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: and you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a set apart nation”.

In 1Peter, Kepha aleph, 2:9 we read; “but you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a set apart nation, a peculiar people that you should show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”. The royal priesthood connects to our Messiah and King and is also connected to the order of Melchizdek, now being the Melchizedekian priesthood.

Covenant is the key to “salvation” or “deliverance”. In Matthew 7:21-23 we read; “not everyone who says to me; Master, Master, ( Yahushua speaking) shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven” (which is the promise to the called out people “Israel”)“ but only those that does the will of My Father which is in heaven".

Let me interject a question right here; what is the Father's will? His will is our obedience to His instructions given to those who would be His people.

Yahushua goes on to say; “Many will say to me in that day Master, Master, have we not prophesied in your authority, and in your authority cast out devils, and done many miracles? And then I will say to them I never knew you: depart from me you that work iniquity. In the Greek (which the King James version was translated from) “workers of iniquity” is “anomia” which is to be in a state or a condition without the law of Moses (the Torah) either by ignorance, or just violating it. We can find this term workers of iniquity in Job 34:22, Psalm 5:5, and 6:8, Proverbs 10:29, and 21:15 to mention a few.

Taking this a step further as mentioned earlier, Yahushua is the Torah (the Law, the righteous instructions) in human form, the reason I believe he didn’t know them (have genuine relationship with them) is because they had no genuine relationship with the Torah.

Our part of covenant is to obey all the words that come out of the creators mouth, (Exodus 19:5), His part of the covenant (covenant being an agreement between two parties) is to bring us into the Kingdom.

In Romans 10:10 we see that “confession is made unto salvation "confession is made" is the Greek term homologeo which literally means covenant, covenant is made unto salvation.

If we endure till the end we “shall” be “delivered” (Matthew 24:13), when Yahushua, the Word made flesh, returns and the regathering together of the people of יָהוּהֶ Elohim (the Israel of Elohim Galatians 6:16) is complete.    Shalom
