The Flood, the Ark, and the Covenant
Today is the 17th day of the 8th month on the Hebrew calendar in relation to the appointed times established by Father יהוה (Yahu-eh) Elohim in Shemoth (Exodus) 12:2. This is also known as the 17th day of the 2nd month of the “civil year”. In B’reshith (Genesis) 7:11-12; when Noakh (Noah) was 600 on the “17th day of the 2nd month the fountains of the deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened and rain was upon the earth for forty days and forty nights”.
In Israelite circles it is widely believed and accepted that this is the day when the flood began with Noah and the ark. Some teach it was the 17th day of Iyar the second month as again established by Yahu-eh himself in Exodus 12 as mentioned earlier, which would correspond with march / april on the Gregorian calendar.
The fact that the Father in heaven established Aviv/Nisan as the first month in Exodus is sited as being after the flood had already happened, and more than likely up to that point Tishrei (a.k.a the 7th month) would have potentially been considered the first month.
To figure that out or make a claim is not the purpose of this post.
I was thinking about the ark and the flood on my way to work, and realized a strong parallel. There was a family unit remnant that was delivered from judgement by entering the ark.
There is another ark in scripture called the ark of the covenant, which resided in the set apart place, and had inside it the commandments given by Father Yahu-eh and also Aaron’s rod that budded (or bore fruit), and the bread that came down from heaven (manna). The ark of Noah had a door that was to be entered through and inside was protection from the judgement outside. I instantly saw that this is a picture of the renewed covenant. When we enter into the renewed covenant with the Father through His son THE bread that came down from heaven (John 6:32-42) , through the bread from heaven (the door) Yahushua, we are to put inside of us His commandments, and we are to bear fruit.
Covenant is the key to everything. Salvation is covenant, if you break down Romans 10:10, in which is written “confession is made” unto salvation, that phrase is homologeo which literally means covenant, so covenant is unto salvation.
The covenant agreement is; if you agree to obey the insructions given by Father Yahu-eh then He will take you as one of His people and be your Elohim (Yirmeyahu /Jeremiah 7:23, Leviticus 23:3-16, and Exodus 19:5). It is those in covenant with Him who are considered His Family, and being in covenant with Him is the protection from the coming judgement. In Mattityahu (Matthew) 12: 46-50 we read that Yahushua’s mother and brothers were “outside” wishing to speak with him. He said to those who were “inside” with him this is my mother and my brothers (stretching his hands towards his disciples) whoever does the will of my Father in heaven.
Messiah Yahushua is the door of the sheepfold according Yochanan (John) 10:7. He is the mediator of the renewed covenant with his better blood. Once you enter into covenant with the Father Yahu-eh יהוה through His Son Yahushua יהושוע(The Word in Human form according to John 1:14), then the next step is being obedient to the instructions given for those who would be Yahu-eh’s people.
Some teach that the Ark is a representation of the Messiah, The Messiah is the door into the ark, the ark is the covenant agreement that all must be in with the Father Yahu-eh in heaven to be one of His people, delivered from the coming judgement, and a part of the Kingdom rest to come.
